Experience the ultimate adventure with the Trango Tower Expedition 2025/2026, one of the world’s most legendary and extreme rock climbing challenges. Located in the Baltoro Glacier region of the Karakoram Range within the Shigar District of Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan, the Trango Towers rise dramatically from the rugged landscape, offering some of the most spectacular and technically demanding big-wall climbs on Earth. Among the group, the Great Trango Tower stands out as the tallest, with its summit reaching an elevation of 6,286 meters (20,608 ft). It holds the record for the world’s greatest nearly vertical drop — over 1,340 meters (4,396 ft) — making it one of the most challenging and breathtaking rock faces for elite climbers worldwide.
The Great Trango Tower was first summited in 1977 by Galen Rowell, John Roskelley, Kim Schmitz, and Dennis Hennek, members of an American expedition. This historic climb opened the doors to numerous challenging routes that have since been established by international teams. The Nameless Tower (Trango Tower) was first successfully climbed in 1976 by Joe Brown, Mo Anthoine, Martin Boysen, and Malcolm Howells from the UK. Since then, it has become a symbol of technical excellence and pure adventure for climbers worldwide.

The best time to climb Trango Tower is during the summer months (June to August) when the weather is relatively stable and snow conditions on the approaches are manageable. This period offers clear skies and ideal conditions for big-wall climbing. However, climbers must be prepared for sudden weather changes, typical of the Karakoram region.
